1902 Mountain View Road, Austin, TX 78703
New Construction

4,260 square feet

Tour Parking: Street parking available. If it rains, the entrance to the house will be on Hopi Trail (thru the garage), not through the front of the house on Mountain View.

This contemporary farmhouse is a modern interpretation of traditional forms. The clean and simple architectural palette of horizontal and vertical siding, standing seam metal roofs, and interior shiplap walls further promotes the contemporary look of the residence. Consistent interior finishes connect lofty volumes with smaller scaled spaces. Situated on an urban lot with little separation from neighboring properties, privacy was a concern. The solution was to turn the house inward. Wrapping the primary living spaces around a private pool court creates a strong sense of place with a unique panorama of the triangular roof forms above.
