4,000 square feet
This house bridges past and present with simple volumes and restrained materials such as concrete, steel, and wood. The modern farmhouse has a dark grey exterior, traditional gable roof, and one-story façade wrapping around six heritage live oak trees, creating an entry motor court. Plantings, site-cast concrete walls, and steel screens provide privacy for the homeowners. Inside, form and function collide with an uncomplicated, mainly white color palette. Finely milled shiplap is complemented by whitewashed oak floors. The open living, dining, and kitchen areas flow effortlessly to the outdoor living and entertaining areas that include a modern, flat roofed pool house and swimming pool.
